Harlem native and Harvard graduate, Ryan Leslie has finally come forth from behind the scenes with his self-titled album, Ryan Leslie. After single-handedly launching the career of Cassie and working with the likes of Beyonce and Britney Spears the R&B crooner is finally taking the spot light and claiming his spot as a bonified singer, songwriter and producer.
R. Les gives you a real emotional, love themed album with an array of instrumental to back up his smooth vocals over each track. From the beginning Leslie comes out the gate with his two hit singles “Diamond Girl” and “Addiction” featuring Cassie and Fabolous. Two smooth intro tracks with up tempo beats and instrustments that easily give that club like appeal. With “You’re Fly”, Leslie gives the glory to the ladies by letting them know they’re fly but not allowing them to forget that puzzle is never complete without that complementary guy. On “Quicksand”, “Valentine” (which will soon be his next single), and "Gibberish" Leslie slows it down with 3 ballets that each showcase his vocal range and has all the intangibles that come with being or wanting to be in that special relationship— love, lust, and infatuation.
Leslie truly comes out with this R&B album with a concept and real vision of how love is portrayed in its purest form. This album is nothing short of that, take it from me, R. Les is really telling you how it’s suppose to be.
